    تفاصيل الدورة

The Built Environment consists of buildings and all other things that have been constructed by human beings. The programme therefore examines the key contemporary issues in the built environment sector. It blends theory and practice to ensure that the learner will be able to provide a practical ability underpinned with theoretical foundations but also that learners will be able to feed into and drive built environment developments, practice and research in the future.

The programme ensures that the learners will have an in-depth knowledge of the underlying theories, key concepts and technologies within the discipline area of the built environment. Graduates will be able to analyse the complex contemporary challenges and issues in management of the built environment and integrate and apply this knowledge to formulate creative and innovative solutions. They will develop the capacity for critical thinking within their discipline and demonstrate an ability to bring their expertise to bear on real world problems and challenges in the built environment. They will be equipped to lead, develop, and manage within a range of built environment organisations. Students on this programme will also have the opportunity to develop advanced research skills which would enable him/her to pursue qualifications at Level 10 in the future.

What will I be able to do when I finish the course?

By studying modules in Leadership Strategy & Self-Management, Construction Project Management, BIM Management and Building Economics & Life Cycle Cost Analysis, Research Methods and a Dissertation as well as two electives from the options of Legal Aspects of Management in the Built Environment, Public Procurement of Construction, Energy & Buildings, Retrofitting & Building Fabric and Facilities Management, a graduate will be well placed to take up management positions across the full built environment sector.

    Potential employment for graduates

As the course is aimed at improving management competency in the built environment both on the developer/design team side and contracting side graduates of the programme, graduates will be ideally qualified to work dealing with the development, procurement, design, construction and management of new buildings or the built infrastructure and refurbishment of existing buildings i.e. anywhere within the built environment.
