This Masters in International Management is designed primarily for those who have recently completed their undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification and who wish to progress to a career in management, in an international context, either within a corporation, government, or an international organisation.
Prospective students may not have significant work experience, and their initial university education may have been in any discipline.
The programme is structured to provide a broad functional coverage of business and management, but is also designed to help students establish some autonomy over the content of their degree. The provision of a substantial dissertation encourages students to pursue their own specific interests in international business and management.
What will I learn?
This programme aims to enable students to:
- Equip students with an advanced understanding of concepts, and current and pervasive issues in international business and management
- Develop the analytical and research skills needed to make reasoned and creative contributions to improve business and management practice
- Prepare students for a career in international business and management by extending their personal and interpersonal skills
- Provide a forum for the exchange of information and ideas among participants with the intention of broadening their experience and enhancing their ability to work with other people
- Gain experience of working with people from different nations, cultures, and academic backgrounds
- Enhance lifelong learning skills and personal development so as to be able to work with self-direction and originality and to contribute to business and society at large
- Facilitate the exposure of students to a range of business practices and to provide the possibility of work experience where possible
Examinations & Assessment
This programme involves through a combination of coursework, assignments and projects, presentations and examinations/tests. All modules contain both formative and summative assessment components. Summative assessments for each module may be based on an inpidual assignment, tutorials, group project and a final written examination.
Tutorials may take a variety of forms depending on the module and include class participation, debates, case studies, reflective essays, learning diaries, management reports, self-assessment and oral presentations. Take home work may also be allocated to students.
Students must fulfill the attendance requirement of at least 90% for each module before they are considered eligible to take the end-of-semester examinations.
Award of Certificate
Students who have completed all necessary course works, successfully passed all required assessments and met all financial obligations to the Institute and University of the West England shall be awarded the MSc International Management by University of the West of England.

Entry Requirements
Students with any of the following qualifications gain direct admission to the programme:
- Degree from a recognised institution
- Professional qualification from QCF level 6 or equivalent
Students with any of the following qualifications gain direct admission with exemption of up to 2 modules:
- MIS Training Centre Graduate Diploma in Marketing
- MIS Training Centre Graduate Diploma in Business Management
English Language Requirements
- Singapore - Cambridge GCE O Level at Grade C or above
- No proof needed if student is progressing from one of UWE's formal partnership institutions (including of MIS TRAINING CENTRE) where the medium of instruction is English
- IELTS overall score of 6.5 with 5.5 in each component (valid for 2 years)
