تفاصيل الدورة
As a continuation from the Level 5 certificate a Level 6 certificate is also offered to further enhance your chances of achieving an entry into a third level course or gaining employment. Learn to perform a range of maintenance procedures associated engineering. Students will investigate many aspects of mechanical and industrial and electrical equipment giving them new knowledge which they can use in the world of work. Upon successful completion of this course students may progress to a variety of related degree level courses run by Institutes of Technology and Universities throughout Ireland.
This course introduces trainees to what they need to know to perform well on the job immediately, with a minimal learning curve. Key subjects include: bearings, seals, and lubrication; hydraulics, mechanical and power transmission systems. The course begins by providing the candidates with an understanding of fault diagnosis by analysing various symptoms. These symptoms include excessive heat, vibration, smell or changes in speed. The aim is to make the candidate aware of the possible outcomes if action is not taken once a fault has been discovered. Because safety is always of paramount importance within our training methods, candidates are taught to write their own method statements for working on moving machinery. The instructor works with the groups to ensure all instructions are clear, short and safe.
The course format is very much 'hands-on' - the emphasis being on the development of sound practical skills within the context of self directed learning.
Modules
- Electrical Principles - (6N2049): This module is designed to allow the learner to acquire the knowledge and understanding to investigate and predict how electrical circuits and electromagnetic devices e.g. transformers, relays, reed switches, AC and DC motors and generators operate.
- Industrial Electrical Systems - (6N5374): This course deals with the requirements of ETCI rules in electrical installation. It is designed to give non-electrical personnel the ability to diagnose industrial faults and to carry out repairs/replacements safely.
- Industrial Hydraulic Systems - (6N5376): This course provides the skills and knowledge necessary to carry out maintenance tasks on industrial hydraulic systems for maintenance personnel and production operators It is suitable for anyone who wishes to work on or maintain industrial hydraulic systems. No prior knowledge of hydraulics is necessary
- Mathematics for Computing - (N33029): This course provides the learner with the necessary skills to apply mathematics in a variety of real life situations, develop mathematical skills appropriate to computing and electronics.
- Mechanical Maintenance Skills - (6N5372): This course provides personnel with the necessary skills to perform mechanical maintenance, including the removal and replacement and alignment of equipment (pumps, gearboxes, motors and power transmission systems) and identification and rectification of bearing faults within these systems.
- Programmable Logic Controller - (6N5370): This course provides the learner with the necessary skills to understand the function of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) write and interpret short PLC programs in the form of Ladder Logic diagrams and Statement Lists.
- Safety Management - (6N1782): This module is a statement of the standards to be achieved to gain an FETAC credit in Safety and Health at Work at Level 5. It is a mandatory module for the National Vocational Certificate Level 5 in Community Care and the National Vocational Certificate Level 5 in Security Studies. It is designed to be taken across a wide range of vocational areas. This module is designed to provide the learner with the skills and knowledge to promote and maintain safety and health in the working environment. The module should be delivered in the context of the learners chosen vocational area.
- Train the Trainer - (E30179): The Train the Trainer module is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to design, deliver, assess and evaluate training programmes.
