Kaplan's certified English for Business courses are designed to build your English language skills to communicate effectively in business contexts, improving your employability and job prospects.

  • 21 hours of classroom study per week including 8 specially tailored lessons of business English.
  • Start any Monday and study for as many weeks as you need.
  • This course is available in 18 schools in 6 English speaking countries.

English for Business courses allow you to quickly improve your general English fluency, as well as focusing on effective communication in business contexts.

Practice workplace communication techniques in English, learn how to participate in meetings and interviews, and acquire business writing skills. You can combine English courses with specialized business lessons of your choice, or with our Practical Business English service in the U.S.

Course Structure

20 Lessons of General English:

  • Focus on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking.

8 Lessons of Business English:

  • These business-specific lessons will equip you with the vocabulary you need to succeed in the business world

7 Sessions of K+ tools K+ clubs:

  • Your K+ sessions give you access to the K+ facilities, resources and activities in K+tools and K+clubs, all specifically prepared to complement your in-class English lessons

Kaplan International students learn through the communicative method of teaching. This means that classroom time is spent on using real-world, practical skills to improve their knowledge of English. Students focus on the ftheir key building blocks of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Classroom activities reflect real situations, and are structured so students communicate as much as possible. If you want to get a better idea, then this is how they do it.

Some examples of classroom activities are:

  • Writing an e-mail to a friend
  • Role-playing a dinner conversation
  • Listening to a train station announcement
  • Reading newspaper articles

By learning how to communicate in these everyday situations while still in the classroom, students are more prepared for conversations with friends, traveling around an English-speaking country and conversations with new friends and colleagues.
