This IMCA Approved Course provides participants with the skills, knowledge and the confidence to administer the Life Support techniques learnt during the training effectively and safely. Attendees will be taught how to assess the casualty promptly and provide resuscitative measures with up to date emergency first aid equipment. This course will provide the attendees with IMCA approved DMT certification that is recognised internationally.

Who should attend?

Anyone can attend the course, irrespective of their background and qualifications. However, IMCA-Recognised certificates shall only be issued to students who meet the following criteria:

• The student must hold an offshore qualification in ping. This can be an LSS, LST, ping Supervisor, or per qualification recognised by IMCA (which is at an offshore grade).
• The student must hold a valid ping medical suitable to go under pressure in a chamber. Sports ping medicals are not acceptable. 

Course Objectives

To train commercial pers to be certified IMCA per Medics. It is a known requirement by IMCA to have one member of a pe team who is not ping, other than the supervisor, trained in advance first aid - generally referred to as a 'per medic'.

At the end of the course, delegates will be able to

• Perform Basic Advanced Cardiac & Trauma Life Support. ♦ Understand the Medical, Legal & Ethical aspects of a DMT.
• Correct handling & assessing of patients with ping related injuries in a Hyperbaric Chamber. 

How is it assessed?

The course is assessed by:

• A multiple-choice paper
• Assessment on Practical Scenarios Delegates, who attend and successfully complete both the practical and written assessments will be awarded DMT certificate, which is approved by IMCA. A minimum pass grade of 75% is required for certification.
