    تفاصيل الدورة

programme for operatives working in the medical technologies or life sciences sector. The upskilling programme consists of modules from the Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (NFQ Level 6, 120 Credits). Anyone can undertake these modules, but member companies of IMDA Skillnet benefit from a 25% reduction in fees for employees that they send on the course. If employed by a company in the medical device sector, you should contact management within your company and ask them to contact the IMDA Skillnet. Otherwise contact GMIT directly.

    Programme Modules

These modules are taken from Year 1 (60 credits) of the Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, which GMIT delivers to full-time students at its Dublin Road Galway Campus.

    • Learning to Learn– 5 Credits, at NFQ Level 6
    • Mathematics– 10 Credits, at NFQ Level 6
    • Computer Aided Design – 10 Credits, at NFQ Level 6
    • Electrical Science– 5 Credits. at NFQ Level 6

Over the next three years it is intended to deliver all 120 of the 120 credits which make up the Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering on a part-time basis.

    • Apply engineering graphics standards
    • Select the appropriate methodology (design intent) for the creation of a solid model
    • Extract orthographic layouts from the solid model
    • Demonstrate familiarity with the techniques involved in using the software to create advanced 3D solid models and part assemblies as used in mechanical
    • design and manufacturing
    • Use standards parts libraries for the selection of appropriate standard components in the design / assembly process

    Electrical Science

    • List and apply the fundamental laws governing electrical circuits

نبذة عن معهد Galway-Mayo IT - Castlebar

The Mayo Campus is located next to Mayo General Hospital, less than ten minutes walk from Castlebar Town.

It opened its doors to students in 1994, in the west wing of the Hospital.  The entire building has been sensitively restored to retain as much as possible of the original architecture, while providing the modern facilities and services required for students and staff.

The Mayo Campus specialises in nursing and outdoor education, as well as offering courses in business, technology, health sciences and more.

In 2011, it became the first Institute of Technology campus in Ireland to be awarded Green Campus status.
