What is the Business Studies course about?

The Higher Certifcate in Business Studies is designed to provide you with a sound general framework on which to build a career. The course covers a broad range of subject areas. It focuses on the skills necessary to deal with the human, information and f nancial systems, which characterise modern business.

What will I be able to do when I finish the course?

After completing this course, you could find employment in the following areas: Accounts, Banking, Insurance, Retail/Sales and Distribution.

What follow-on study opportunities are available?

Students who graduate from this course will be eligible to progress to Year 3 of the Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Business or Digital Marketing (CW018/CW037) at Wexford Campus OR the following courses at the Carlow Campus:

• Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Marketing (CW838)
• Bachelor of Business (Honours) in International Business (CW958)
• Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Business (CW908)
• Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Supply Chain Management (CW918)
• Or progress to Year 2 Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accounting (CW948).

What are the minimum entry requirements?

Leaving Certificate: 5 subjects at Ordinary Level grade D3 or better.

Subjects required: English or Irish at Ordinary Level grade D3 or better and Mathematics at Ordinary Level grade D3 or better.

Mature applicants will be interviewed and assessed on an individual basis.
