This is course which includes work place­ment. The aim is to develop and expand the skills acquired in , with a strong empha­sis on all aspects of prac­ti­cal skill.

• Safety and Wel­fare at Work
• Hair Sci­ence
• Hair­dress­ing – The­ory and Practice
• Con­sult­ing and Diagnosing
• Con­di­tion­ing Treatments
• Blow dry­ing, set­ting and styling
• Cut­ting
• Perming and Neutralising
• Prepa­ra­tion for Work
• Work Expe­ri­ence (in the Col­lege Salon and in a Com­mer­cial Salon)

Entry Require­ments:

• Successful Com­ple­tion of FETAC level 5 Hair­dress­ing award
• Merit or Dis­tinc­tion in the prac­ti­cal com­po­nent of Level 5FETAC Hairdressing
• Applicants must secure a 2& day weekly work place­ment in a Hair­dress­ing salon

Career Prospects:

Stu­dents who suc­cess­fully com­plete this course may gain place­ment as a appren­tice in a high pro­file hair­dress­ing salon.
