The IBAT College General English programme is for people who want to improve their language skills for everyday situations. Our classes help students develop communication skills, confidence and fluency in speaking, listening, reading, grammar, pronunciation and writing Note: Part-time course does not meet Visa requirement for stamp 2 students/those seeking student visa.
The approach employed in the English Language School at IBAT College Dublin is primarily communicative and integrative to take into account different learners’ needs, attitudes and objectives in learning the language. The course is delivered to non-native speakers of English to further their English language skills in different situations. The approach is also learner-centred and aims to provide the student with all the tools essential to becoming an autonomous learner. The course places particular emphasis on vocabulary building in general living and social situations and also in relation to a business or working environment.
Our teachers have on average ten years English language teaching experience. This, coupled with a state-of-the-art modern learning environment in the heart of the city centre will ensure you get to the level of English you want fast.
We will also look at some practical language functions for Business situations such as:
- Dealing with customers
- Curriculum Vitae and job application letters
- Job interviews
- Giving presentations
- Teachers will provide samples of Cambridge examinations such as FCE and CAE.
Classes are delivered in groups of a maximum of 15 students. We have flexible enrollment, which means that you can sign up every week and choose the duration of your studies. On admission you will complete a placement test to determine the most suitable class for you to join. These classes are designed for students who work during the day and are looking for a convenient and flexible study time to improve and progress their English language skills.
Also inclued FREE in our English Language part-time programme at IBAT College Dublin are:
- Additional Pronunciation and Conversation Classes every Friday morning
- Assisted Study sessions available outside of regular class times in consultation with your teacher.
