Foundations of Banking Risk (FBR) is a basic risk management international certification awarded by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). GARP is a well-known international risk management institute which promotes risk education and risk certifications.
FBR through 4 months overviews the main types of risks banks take, and how international regulation, including the Basel Accords, affect the management of these risks. It also covers how a bank operates, how it's governed and how it's regulated.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this practical course participants will be able to:
- Gain a strong foundation to pursue a career in finance
- Improve their knowledge and understanding of the financial risk management process from an international perspective
- Demonstrate a broad knowledge of:
- Risk management practices
- Governance structure
- Regulatory requirements provided by Basel committee
