The courses are designed for those who are interested in Fashion Design to acquire basic skills and knowledge in Apparel Design, Textile Printing, Pattern Making and Apparel Construction.
Terms and conditions
- Students will be presented a Certificate upon successful completion of all 4 short courses and passing all required assessment.
COURSE MODULES
Fashion Design 1 - Basic Apparel Design
This course introduces fundamental practice of apparel design from visual research , design sketches, illustrations, and stages of design development process to portfolio preparation.
Fashion Design 2 - Basic Textile Printing
This course provides hands-on experiment and exploration of basic printing methods on fabric as part of apparel design process. Students will learn how to produce creative prints onto fabrics before construction and sewing.
Fashion Design 3 - Basic Pattern Making
In this course, students will learn the application of basic process of 2D pattern cutting on paper and suitable fabric. This includes skirt, bodice, sleeves, finishes, decorative details. This short course is interconnected with Basic Construction for fitting and alteration of patterns on the completing garment.
Fashion Design 4 - Basic Construction
In this course, students will learn the handling of machine, application of basic seam finishes, and apparel assembly methods using domestic sewing machines. This training is interconnected with Basic Pattern Making for fitting and alteration of patterns on the completing garment.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be 17 years old & above.
Prerequisites for Registration
- For Fashion Design 2, 3 & 4, applicants need to complete Fashion Design 1
