he ACM50412 Veterinary Nursing Diploma specialising in Emergency and Critical Care provides experienced nurses with the leadership skills and specialised veterinary nursing knowledge necessary to effectively perform the role of a senior veterinary nurse in referral practice. You will learn how to ensure team effectiveness, manage quality customer service, support professional communications and implement environmentally sustainable work practices.
You will also prepare for and perform emergency procedures to sustain life and provide nursing support for critical care surgery. The course will teach you how to work with your employer to promote teamwork and implement relevant nursing policies and procedures in veterinary referral practice.
Managing customer service, Workplace Health and Safety and leading by example will promote a positive work culture, improve patient outcomes and client satisfaction. Through professional development you will also gain the confidence needed to communicate with other practices and educate clients on the aftercare for specialised procedures. Learners will deepen their existing veterinary nursing skills and knowledge, gain a higher qualification in a specialised area and become an asset to their practice.
What employment opportunities will I have?
Employment prospects for senior veterinary nurses are diverse. The Diploma of Veterinary Nursing allows you to work throughout Australia and overseas as a senior veterinary nurse, veterinary nursing manager or veterinary pharmaceutical industry representative.
