The Diploma in Library and Information Services provides a comprehensive training in the day to day running of libraries and information agencies. You will gain essential skills in communication and customer service, computer and technical skills, along with administrative skills, small group training, and supervision of staff. You will develop knowledge in reference work, cataloguing, systems management, database searching and collection management.
What employment opportunities will I have?
This course may provide you with employment as a library technician in school, university, institute, public, special, state and national libraries.
You may also find employment in information agencies, booksellers, library supply agencies and library software suppliers.
You will be eligible to apply for membership of the Australian Library and Information Association as a Library Technician.

This course is government accredited and has national recognition
What further study options will I have?
You may wish to progress into the Bachelor of Library and Information Management, or other professional librarianship courses. Advanced standing may be available depending on the level of your results.
