Do you enjoy being around children and want to inspire the next generation of young learners? The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care provides comprehensive training in designing, implementing and assessing engaging programs for children from birth to twelve years that align to legislative, regulatory and National Quality Framework compliance.
You will learn how to plan care routines, develop a deep knowledge of children’s holistic development and manage all aspects of early childhood administration. Through the support of experienced trainers and extensive Industry work-placement you will gain comprehensive knowledge of regulatory authorities, providing children with a safe and healthy environment, working in partnerships with families, supporting children with additional needs and building effective teams.
If you are currently working in early childhood and need to update your existing qualification to meet the current minimum qualification standards you may be eligible for RPL.
What employment opportunities will I have?
From the 1st January 2014 - fifty percent of educators will be required to meet the relevant ratios in early childhood services and must have, or be actively working towards an approved Diploma Level education and care qualification. This course will provide you with employment opportunities as a Diploma Level Educator in long day care, occasional care, family day care, preschools, early intervention services, neighbourhood houses, mobile services and other specialised services.

What further study options will I have?
After successful completion of this course you will have a direct entry pathway into the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care at Box Hill Institute.
You may also be eligible for a conditional offer to study at Deakin University in the Degree of Earlychildhood as part of an agreed partnership between Deakin and Box Hill Institute.
