There is no better place to study and practise the Performing Arts than in Singapore, the Festival City. Its year-round calendar is jam-packed with all sorts of arts, festivals and fairs. These include the Singapore International Festival of Arts, the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival, Singapore Night Festival, Singapore Writers Festival, Singapore Art Week, and Singapore International Film Festival. Collectively they provide real-life exciting and innovative opportunities for creative young people to develop and nurture their talent and interests.
The Performing Arts (PA) courses that students attend at EASB’s School of Performing Arts are industry-relevant, stimulating, challenging and practical. Combined with classroom study of the theory and studio practice sessions of the arts, taught by award-winning performing artistes and dedicated industry professionals and practitioners, all of whom have strong and current industry connections, the result will be growing competence, confidence, commitment, and creativity among our PA students. These are the hallmarks of successful arts performers and artistes. And our PA courses lead to an internationally accredited Bachelors honours degree.
The EASB School of PA’s programmes are focused on live performance and designed to equip students who want to have not just a career but a life as artists or actors in theatre, in drama/operas, in film, in TV, and the emerging theatrical media. They also provide a wide range of skills that can be applied to a working career as dancers or choreographers and as professionals in broadcasting, stage/event hosting, video production and cinematic arts. They incorporate practical training and/or internship that enable students practical training in various projects such as TV presentations, Radio Broadcasting, Movie and Singing Audition and Public Events.
At the EASB School of Performing Arts we are looking for students who are passionate and hardworking and whose artistic ambitions lie beyond themselves, but who enjoy being part of a group. We select students to form groups, each group with a mix of highly talented inpiduals. They will study together, enhance each other’s time at EASB School of PA and emerge strong and confident, secure that their bedrock experience will sustain them and their peers for whatever early or late successes their career in musical theatre has in store for them. Along the way, they will have raise public consciousness and made their mark in the arts scene, through education outreach and community theatre, and through their innovative and quality performances in film, television, radio, and stage. Quite simply, they strive for excellence.
