Students are guided through a two-phase process:

•  Create several ideas by dreaming and exploring, using pencil, pen, and ink.
•  Develop and finalize sketches using Photoshop, with lessons in basic Photoshop and design skills. The class will draw inspiration from contemporary illustrators and participants are asked to bring illustrations that they like to class.

Items to buy for this class

• 1 sketchbook
• range of hard and soft pencils (2B and 5B/6B/7B)
• 2 fine black drawing pens like YOKEN Technical Drawing Pens (0.1 and 0.3)
• 1 black ball point pen
• hand-held mirror
• USB flash drive
• if available it will be helpful to bring along your personal digital tablet and a pen (Eg. Bamboo) for it
