Intensive dental surgery course for GPs will go through a wide range of topics that are required for a professional in their day to day life in the clinic. It starts with achieving profound local anesthesia and handling complicated extractions,
reaching up to performing impactions, cyst, enucleations, biopsy procedures and finally managing dental emergencies in the dental office together with BLS and CPR.2.
Topics Covered:
First Module:
- This Module will help you understand what you need to know before & after performing oral surgery on your patient.
- Quick review over the important anatomical structures related to oral surgery.
- Common and recent radiographic views: how to read normal anatomy, how to recognize abnormalities, and how to assess the surgical site for safe operation.
- Use of the most current infection control recommendations for dentistry.
- Trouble shooting pain control problems in the dental office: local anaesthetic types, basic techniques and supplementary techniques.
- Recognition and management of anesthetic, local and systemic, complications.
- How to write a medical prescription.
- Indications, contraindications, drug interactions and side effects of the most commonly prescribed medications in dentistry.
- Preoperative, operative and postoperative management of medically compromised patients in dental office.
- Protocols for inoffice management of specific medical emergencies in dentistry.

Second Module:
- Discussion of when to treat, when to refer a patient

- Learn the physiology and pharmacology of oral and maxillofacial injectable treatment
- Review of sterile technique as it relates to the use of injectable pharmacologic agents
- Safety and risk issues for botulinum toxin and dermal fillers injectable therapy
- Botulinium toxin therapeutic treatment of migraines, TMJ syndrome, facial pain and bruxism cases
- Beautiful lip enhancement and how to avoid giving your patients "duck" lips
- Enhancing the cupids bow to create a beautiful lip
- Volumizing the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, mentalis region and lifting up the corners of the mouth using anatomical landmarks
- Smoothing lip lines and eliminating vertical "smokers" lines

- Grafting fresh extraction sockets for ridge preservation utilizing the newest bone replacement materials and guided tissue membranes.
