This course introduces the participant to the basics of communication skills in the work place for a successful technical personal. It expands the concept of communication to a broader horizon of the elements of technical information exchange, the services offered by electro technical organizations, and roles and responsibilities in the work place.
Course Objectives:
Identify essentials of human Interactive Communication Skills:
- The candidate will be able to:
- Define what communication is?
- Identify elements and types of communication?
- Identify the barriers of communication?
- Describe the fundamental communication skills required for effective instructiveness with peers, superiors and customers.
- Describe the key aspects of verbal and non-verbal communication.
- Explain the role that ‘choice of words’ and the tone play in verbal communication.
- Explain the importance of presenting a professional image.
Identify the occupational specialism within the breadth of companies that form the electro-technical industry:
- The Candidate will be able to:
- Produce an organizational flow chart to show the structure of company staff from owners, managers to operatives.
- Identify roles and responsibilities within the place of work
Identify sources of technical information and methods of retrieval and use drawings, diagrams and manufacturer’s data:
- The Candidate will be able to:
- Retrieve technical information
- Use diagrams, charts and data
- Use BS and/or BSEN symbols to identify required equipment, machines, switchgears, accessories in the work place or on site.
