This module aims to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and attitudes to promote good practice and respect for diversity in lifestyle, religion and culture while working effectively in a care setting.

It is a mandatory module for the Level 5 Award in Healthcare Support.

Programme Aim:

At the end of the course the learner will be able to:

• Understand the responsibilities and entitlements of a care worker
• Promote good practice and respect for diversity in the care setting
• Understand the importance of working effectively as part of a team
• Understand the importance for a care worker to communicate and deal with people in ways that are consistent with the role of a carer.
• Recognise the need for continuing development in care work, drawing on personal reflection and experience

Entry Requirement

Minimum of Level 4 certificate standard of education. Strong interest in the provision of quality care in a healthcare setting.
