This programme has been designed to help enable participants to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to care for clients in a safe and hygienic environment. The programme optimizes participant's involvement in identifying and meeting clients individual needs throughout, in order to ensure that skills learned are relevant and practical in their everyday work.

• Participants applying for this award should hold a level 4 and/or have relevant life and work experience. Applicants will have the opportunity to advise of any special learning requirements on application/registration

• 60% Project and 40% Assignment

Programme Content

• Be capable of identifying and adapting levels of assistance to the needs of your clients
• Communicate effectively with clients
• Provide effective care that will maintain clients privacy and dignity, independence and positive self image
• Assisting clients during a range of daily activities to include sensory and mechanical aids
• Aid clients in tasks including dressing, washing, eating and moving
• Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for clients
