This module aims to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and attitude to develop a range of personal and interpersonal qualities necessary to work in a range of care environments

It is an elective module towards the Level 5 Award in Healthcare Support.

Programme Aim:

At the end of the course the learner will be able:

• To recognise the needs of a group requiring care
• To become aware of their role and responsibilities as a care worker
• To create awareness of statutory and voluntary care provisions
• To develop personal and interpersonal qualities necessary to the care of the client group
• To acquire practical skills for work in caring environments
• To evaluate their work in a care setting and make plans for future self-development
• To give assistance with total patient care in the workplace to include the correct use of basic tools and equipment

Entry Requirements

Minimum of Level 4 certificate standard of education. Strong interest in the provision of quality care in a healthcare setting.
