An attractive outward appearance begins with understanding the inside of the body. Through this understanding, you can gain insight into what the core issues are that could be causing problems with a client's outward appearance and what you can and cannot do to remedy these, in your role as a beauty therapist.

By studying the Beauty Therapist Diploma Course, you will learn about the internal mechanics of the human body. You will be taken through the various systems, tissues and cell structures - gaining knowledge of the function and purpose of each and how they work together to maintain homeostasis. You will also learn about the various aspects of nutrition and the importance of maintaining a balanced diet both for the internal and external body.

The largest organ of the body and one of the most important in beauty treatments is the skin. From the Beauty Therapist Diploma Course, You will learn about the components and functions of the skin, along with diseases that you should be aware of and how the skin ages. With this knowledge in mind, you will discover how to properly care for skin and provide an effective and relaxing facial. To give you a full understanding of the techniques used in providing a facial, the course includes 4 videos covering the various aspects of the topic.

Your studies will take you through important facets of the beauty therapy industry, covering makeup application (including 2 videos covering the application and finishing touches of daytime makeup), waxing, manicures and pedicures, hair design and basic massage. Each of these services is covered in their own module, where you will learn about any equipment you may need, and the process and theories of each treatment. You will also learn about the health risks associated with working in this industry and the preventative measures you can take to minimise these.

As you grow in confidence with your skills you will move from student to working professional. The Beauty Therapist Diploma Course talks you through what to expect working in the role, what employers will require of you and what skills you will need to be successful. For those considering going it alone, you will learn how to set up and market your own business, including how to create a business plan and marketing strategy and the paperwork you will need to understand and complete.
