تفاصيل الدورة
The course covers levelling and total station instrument use and adjustment, misclose distribution, Angle-Bearing-Angle conversion and revision of trigonometry concepts. Introduction to coordinates and explanation of the common survey computations for close and area are also covered.
Candidates are given practical project work, e.g. closed traverse, series levelling loop and are assessed on both the conduct and results of their work
The syllabus and structure are subject to revision without prior notice to reflect current changes in technique or technology.
Introduction to Land Surveying
Introduction
- What is land surveying? Explain Plane & Geodetic Surveying. Field & Office Work. Use of surveying for boundary definition, for construction, horizontal control & vertical control.
- Engineering, cadastral, hydrographic & photogrammetric Surveys.
Principles of Surveying

- Offsets
- Traversing
- Intersection
The Surveyor’ Work
- Verify/establish horizontal & vertical controls
- Location/ refixing the positions of boundary marks in a cadastral survey
- Carry out a topographical survey
- Horizontal & Vertical monitoring of structures, dams, tunnels etc
- Carry out a pre-computation for a setting out survey
- Setting out building corners, roads, drains etc
Equipment
- Measurement of distance: tapes, chains, edmi
- Measurement of angles/bearings: theodoites, total stations, robotic system
- Measurement of N,E,Z coordinates: GPS, Total station

نبذة عن معهد Singapore Institute Of Surveyors And Valuers
The Institute comprises 3 divisions: the Land Surveyors, the Quantity Surveyors and the Valuation and General Practice Surveyors. The Land Surveyors play a crucial role in the proper erection of buildings, especially high-rise construction, and the accurate delineation and identification of vertical and horizontal interests in these buildings. The Quantity Surveyors are consulted on the economics of cost in the development or redevelopment process. The Valuers give advice on the values of interests in property upon which all real estate activities are based on. In addition, the Valuation and General Practice Surveyors also comprise real estate professionals dealing in marketing and agency, management and various forms of consultancy on real estate issues.
