NEBOSH Environmental Awareness at Work Qualification is an introduction to environmental issues for employee and provides vital information about the role they play in improving organizational environmental performance.

This qualification is an ideal first step tosvards other NEBOSH qualifications such as, the NEBOSH
Certificate in Environmental Management. This qualification has been accredited by National
Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) in United Kingdom.

COURSE CONTENT

Unit EAW 1: Environmental Awareness

ELEMENT 1: FOUNDATIONS OF ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

•  The meaning of environment, habitats, eco-systems, pollution and sustainability
•  The importance and benefits of sustainable development
•  Environmental management systems (EMS)

ELEMENT 2: POLLUTION, IMPACT ASSESSMENTS AND EMERGENCIES

•  Principles and practice of impact (risk) assessments
•  The mam sources, types, controls and impacts of air pollution
• The main sources, controls and impacts of water pollution
•  The main sources, controls and impacts of environmental noise
• Types of waste
•  Waste management
•  Dealing with environmental emergencies

Target Attendees:

• Individuals who have the responsibility for managing environmental issues as part of their day to day duties, including managers, supervisors and newly appointed HSE advisers.
• Individuals who want to have some good foundation in environmental concerns and put them into context.
