Strategic management is the cornerstone of most educational programmes in business, but it is almost always taught from conventional theories and typically American case studies. This course takes traditional theories and interprets them from an Islamic perspective using more international case studies. This course is extremely useful for any Islamic oriented businessinpiduals including those who are in Islamic financial institutions who want to ensure that their businesses are in compliance with the Shariah, especially with a particular focus on developing corporate cultures and structures in sync with Islamic values. Strategic Management of Islamic financial institutions is a key aspect that influences how the future of the industry will be shaped, in terms of growth, persification of products and services, and even Shariah compliance. This course will hopefully contribute in raising the awareness of the importance of having a proper process and structure related to Strategic Management for Islamic financial institutions, which is relevant to rules and regulations of the Shariah.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the value of strategic management from an Islamic perspective and how it differs from the conventional
- Discuss the role of Islamic law in its application in institutions and how its transforms people into leaders
- Practice modern management processes and functions from an Islamic perspective
- Analyze real life contemporary strategic management related cases and provide an effective solution
- Develop a corporate culture that is synchronized with Islamic values
- Propose strategies and for motivating teams and resolving conflicts
Target Audience
This course is for inpiduals who would like to have an understanding of Strategic management from an Islamic perspective, most especially those that are in a position which is involved in setting strategies and assisting those that are responsible for setting strategies in their respective organization, such as newly promoted managers, middle level to senior level managers, supervisors and team leaders.
