Course Overview

      In this Revit Architecture course, with different tools you will learn how information is inter-related throughout the BIM model. You will design 3D building models that simultaneously document the project in schedules and in 2D construction document sheets from that model.
 
    Architects, interior designers and engineers can gain valuable insight. Topics include scheduling building components, using the family editor to create 2D and 3D components, refining graphics, and construction documentation. The information-rich models that the software provides support decision-making for sustainable design, clash detection, construction planning, and fabrication, while helping you to work collaboratively with engineers, contractors, and ;

Students will gain from this course:

• Ability to work in a 3-dimensional drafting environment and create 3D models of construction assemblies and buildings.
• Ability to create a parametric building information model ("BIM" = a 3d object-oriented model of a building where each component has "intelligent" behaviors and embedded data) and extract data. This approach facilitates the creation of construction documents (plans, elevations etc.), material takeoffs and building schedules as well as performance ( building energy) analysis.
• Knowledge of options to work collaboratively on Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) projects.
• Knowledge of advanced CAD principles: Software extensions, scripting/automation, texturing/rendering, workflow methods and others.
