The Course is designed to enrich the trainees; language skills by providing an exciting and educational international experience. Trainees spend the whole course surrounded by the cultural environment related to the language chosen. All classes are taught by an enthusiastic and professional instructor that is specialized in teaching Arabic for non-Arab speakers.

This course is aimed at complete beginners. On the course you will develop an understanding of the principles of phonology and script of the Arabic language. You will also gain useful vocabulary, an understanding of basic grammar and the ability to express yourself and communicate at a basic level.

The intensive course will start with giving the minimum amount of knowledge about the language and how to use it. The language will be divided into parts, each part will be related to the other according to the theme which will be simple and could be used in everyday life and simple conversations.

You will learn and practice the language using the four language skills in Arabic - reading, writing, speaking and listening - through the use of audio and visual materials. This course will also allow you to become familiar with some aspects of Arabic culture.

Ø  Course objectives

On completion of this course, students should be able to:

§  Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of phonology and script

§  Demonstrate basic skills in the four language skills: reading and writing, speaking and listening

§  Demonstrate an understanding of basic grammar of contemporary Arabic: the verb, subject, adjective, adverb, plural, nisba, al-idafa etc.

§  Demonstrate the ability to translate simple sentences

§  The Arabic alphabet

§  The structure and translation of simple Arabic sentences

§  Acquiring a usable Arabic vocabulary

§  Oral practice: using simple dialogue texts (situations)

§  Aural practice: using audio-visual materials

§  Written practice: training in writing short essays

§  Arabic grammar: the verb, past and present tense, subject, object, adjective, adverb, al-idafa and the verbal noun, al-masdar etc.

§  Exploring some aspects of Arabic culture

By the end of this course, students will:

§  Have acquired the skills to read simple Arabic text

§  Be able to use simple sentence structures in speaking and writing

§  Have become familiar with some aspects of Arabic culture.
