Overview

This course provides participants with a detailed understanding of financial accounting concepts and auditing issues. It also explores the technical and procedural skills required to deal with the advanced areas of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) framework.

- The basic concepts of independent economic unit, time period, transaction duality and the concept of monetary measurement

- Revenue Recognition

- Branch accounts (dependent and independent)

- Consolidated financial statements

- Historical Cost, Fair Value and Impairment

- Derivatives
