This Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology course will greatly improve your opportunities to enter the workforce as an engineering paraprofessional in production engineering, installation and equipment maintenance or design drafting. This course also overlaps with mechanical engineering associate, drafting and manufacturing technology work.
You can specialise in one of two streams (either Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering).

We offer a supportive learning environment with extra one on one tutoring after hours and specialist teachers to assist with language and numeracy within our classrooms.
Entrance requirements
Successful completion of the Diploma of Engineering Technology. Relevant senior employment experience in industry will be considered.
English language proficiency
A minimum IELTS overall score of 5.5 (Academic). A minimum TOEFL score of 530 for paper examination; 179 for computer based and 71 for Internet based.
Special admission requirements
Study of mathematics at Year 11 or 12 level; preferably physics or other science subjects at senior secondary level also.
What employment opportunities will I have?
The Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology could lead to a variety of different roles, depending on the stream you choose. The Mechanical Engineering stream could lead to work as a mechanical draftsman, mechanical designer, production planner, production supervisor or engineering technician.
Possible job outcomes for the Civil Engineering stream include; civil draftsman, laboratory technician, research assistant, construction supervisor or urban planning assistant.
What further study options will I have?
This course has an articulation with Deakin University. On successful completion of this course students will receive 18 months credit, and students are now eligible to enrol directly into the fourth semester of the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (S367) at Deakin University.
This course also leads to further studies at other higher educational organisations, and students may receive 1 year to 18 months credits for a four year mechanical engineering degree.
