About Derek Hartshorne
Derek is a highly motivated individual with an extensive range of service in the private and public sectors.
He has previously worked at all levels up to and including advising UK Government Departments and EU organizations on skills, competence in the workplace and its link to business productivity and growth. Derek has delivered many general coaching programmes to businesses, and has been responsible for devising, developing and implementing a range of business support tools such as Skills Manager and Enterprise Essentials (for SMEs), as well as advising Government and the UKCES on skills policy and the application of National Occupational Standards.
Derek was the ‘go to’ expert within the Skills for Business Network on technology for skills solutions, and was a platform speaker at the EU Ecvet Conference in 2010.
Derek was awarded the Nilta Chairman’s Award for ‘Innovation in e-Learning’.
