I am not from the medical background, am I eligible to take the medical coding course?

Yes, You are eligible for the course. Even if you are from a different background this career will be new to start with easy methodoligies provided by our institute.

Medical Coding is the transformation of narrative descriptions of diseases, injuries, healthcare procedures and observations into numeric or alphanumeric designations (that is, code numbers), following guidelines and rules. The code numbers are detailed in order to accurately describe the diagnosis (the condition  which reasoned the encounter with the healthcare provider) and the procedures for either diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. Medicine is not always an exact science, codes were developed to identify all reasons for seeking healthcare.

We would suggest you to have knowledge about Anatomy and Physiology. Without studying about anatomy and physiology – we do not recommend you to take medical coding course. It will be very difficult to grasp the contents and codes to accurately describe diagnosis.
