Siyakhula Trust is a training and capacity building Trust (Reg. No: 7216 / 94). It is registered as a Non-Profit organisation with the NPO Directorate of the Department of Social Development (Reg. No: 014 690) and also as a Public Benefit Organisation with the Tax Exemption Unit of SARS (Reg. No: 930011386).

Siyakhula Trust grew out of the non-profit community training initiatives of Percon, a training consultancy operating in the corporate sector. In the early 1980’s Percon realised that in order for South Africa to bring about change that communities had to be empotheyred. As a result capacity training was offered to community leaders and NPOs in both the rural and urban disadvantaged areas. By the early 1990s the need for such work had grown to such an extent that Siyakhula Trust was launched as an independent entity.
