Prestige Academy was established in 1995 by Estelle Gallowitz and Sandra Mostert.  The academy opened its doors the first time at the Van der Stel building, Durban Road, Bellville. Starting with only 20 computers/students the academy quickly shown a significant growth and had to relocate to a much bigger building in Bellville Business Park, D J Wood Street, Bellville. Since the focus was exclusively on IT Training until 2002, Management had a clear vision of further growth and development. As a result of this broadened vision the academic side of this institution was restructured in 2011 into two faculties:  the Faculty of Arts, Design and Information Technology, and the Business Faculty respectively. In 2012 the position of faculty head was introduced to Their organisational structure.

As the result of a strategic decision to expand the scope of disciplines of study opportunities offered (horizontal expansion) as Theyll as the type of qualifications offered aligned with the HEQSF (vertical expansion) They started offering degree programs in 2010/11 (i.e. BCom Business Marketing) being the first, in which the first graduates completed the 3 year program at the end of 2013.  Applications for Their first h onTheirs programs Theyre submitted in 2013.
