About AMI (Association Montessori Internationale)
Montessori for Lebanon is affiliated with Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) which was established in 1929 by Dr Maria Montessori in order to protect and preserve the integrity of her life’s work. After her death in 1952, it was led by her closest collaborators, including her son Mario and her granddaughter Renilde Montessori.
AMI’s fidelity to the highest standards of Montessori theory and practice ensures that teaching is tied to a fundamental understanding of child development - and that each child’s distinct personality and independence are nurtured throughout their educational journey.
