Hello and Namaste from Jen!

For those of you that have been considering beginning a yoga practice and are ready to start, or for those of you that have an established yoga practice but would benefit from a more in depth explanation of each posture,  I am so pleased to offer this course to you. This course consists of several three to five minute individual, concise, and thoroughly explained videos that break down each of the beginning YOGA ASANAS or postures for you, giving you complete guided instruction. You may want to purchase yoga props or use what you have around the house.

LEARN, PRACTICE, AND MASTER BEGINNING YOGA POSTURES SAFELY AND AT YOUR OWN PACE WITH YOUR OWN YOGA REFERENCE LIBRARY

~For beginning Yogis who have never tried yoga, or for experienced students who want a more in depth explanation to help improve or modify their practice, this course will provide you with a reference library to use again and again.

~At your own pace and at your convenience you can practice a new posture every day with me.  Repetition is advised so that you can eventually go deeper into each posture to gain the myriad benefits.

~You can also put several postures together and create your own yoga practice, choosing the asanas that suit you at that time. Remember, these postures have been practiced and used by yoga practitioners for centuries to help improve flexibility, strength, stimulate the endocrine, nervous, circulatory and immune systems of the body and help bring healing, peace, joy and harmony to the mind, body and spirit.

~Each video will teach you the proper English and Sanskrit names of the poses, explain how to safely come into and out of the poses, show you the correct alignment to avoid injury, and demonstrate how to use props with the poses, if necessary. I have also included some information on Pranayama, or breath practice, an important part of any yoga class. You will learn some simple breathing techniques that will energize you and help create balance in the 2 hemispheres of the brain and the body.

~For this course you will need a strap (the belt from a robe will do), a blanket, a bolster (a firm medium sized couch pillow will do), and yoga blocks (a squishy soccer ball will do or a ball around that size).

It doesn't matter what age you begin, yoga is a holistic, natural approach to health that you can begin at any point in your life and it will carry you through the rest of your days, helping you to be the healthiest you that you can be!  This course is an indispensable tool forthose wanting to learn and retain information on the asanas, a veryimportant part of the physical yoga practice.

I have been teaching Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga for many years and I am confident that these simple, understandable explanations of each beginning yoga posture will familiarize you with this amazing practice. I will help you reach a point where you feel comfortable enough to participate in a beginning group class with ease and confidence or develop your own personal practice in the comfort of your own home. Yoga is not a competitive sport, it is a practice that can be tailored to each individual no matter what shape or stage of life a person is in. This course will take away any preconceived notions you may have about yoga and demonstrate how yoga is approachable and beneficial for everyone when done in a mindful, safe way. I am honored to start you on your journey!
