Maintenance Planning & Scheduling MindShift Training

Course Overview

Here are many approaches to maintenance planning. However, considering the maintenance complexity and complications over a number of years it seems as though the planning approaches are not always aligned; specifically to higher levels of quality. There is often reference to the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) models for continuous improvement; but not always to higher quality goals within an organization or its customer base.
Based on teaching TQM at a major university over a number of years, it seems as though there is a real need to approach maintenance plans from two aspects. One is the PDCA type structure and the other is alignment with a formal quality management system that embeds sound quality practices.

Objectives
• Reduce complexity and complications of maintenance plans.
• Continuous qualitative and quantitative review of maintenance plans.
• An embedded focus on the technical and quality issues in maintenance plans throughout the organization and its customers.
• Objective governance of maintenance plans.
• Objective justification of maintenance work to be planned.
• Focused on sustaining competitive advantage through incorporating quality based maintenance plans within the business case.
