Learning Outcomes:
During this intensive practical course, students will
  1. Discover the history and principles of Moulage (Draping) with visual examples and references to fashion designers who use the technique such as Christian Dior, Zac Posen, and Elie Saab
  2. Experiment with fabrics to understand how fabric can shape around the mannequin.
  3. Apply basic constructions from their fabric manipulations to complete a finished garment

Eligibility / Requirements

Students will need the following:

  • French curve ruler
  • Pattern making ruler
  • Tracing wheel
  • Supple tape measure
  • Red and black markers
  • Mechanical pencil
  • Pins
  • Scissors
  • Note book
  • Fabrics of the student’s interest (at least 3 meters of long length)
