Preceptorship is a key performance requirement of the U.A.E Nursing and Midwifery Council. This two-day course has been developed to provide preceptors with the necessary skills, attitudes and behaviours required to precept new staff more effectively. The target group is registered nurses who have a responsibility to precept new nurses in their working environment.
On completion of this course, you should be able to:
- Explain how to successfully facilitate the preceptorship process when initiating a preceptor/preceptee relationship.
- Identify challenges that can complicate the progress of a preceptee and apply strategies to overcome these challenges.
- Discuss how to provide effective feedback to nurses from different generations, by taking generational and cultural differences into account.
