Clinical audit involves evaluation of data, documents and resources to check performance against standards. The aim of this clinical audit course is to examine your role in the continuous improvement process while establishing a clear framework for the audit pathway.Assists you to benchmark from the HIQA standards and assists you in developing your own audit tools and identify priority areas for auditing in your organisation. It also sets out to increase the efficiency of the audit process by creating a systematic, methodical approach to audit.
Objectives
- Formalise the audit process in tandem with your facility
- Ensure that Clinical Audit activity is co-ordinated, registered and monitored systematically
- Ensure the effective use of resources
- Encourage systematic prioritisation of audits taking into account Local, Regional and National requirements.
- Examine ways to incorporate multi-professional, multi-disciplinary, multi-agency audit
- Provide examples of audit tools based on HIQA Standards
- Practical application of Knowledge to developing own audit tool.
