Starting A Successful Creative Business

This is an hour-long class built to help prospective creative entrepreneurs go about starting their business the RIGHT way. No one goes into business with the expectation of being stressed about money all the time. Unfortunately though, it is an all-too familiar reality to most. Thankfully, with just a little bit of pre-planning, there ARE ways that you can lower the likelihood of the businesses financial failure. You will learn the following: 

1. How to identify the type of creative you want to be. (Maybe you shouldn't own a business or maybe you should!) 

2. How to make sure you've done the proper product prep-work. (To make sure you're not getting completely swamped by competition right out of the gate) 

3. Learn how to identify the best legal formation. (S-Corp? LLC? Sole Proprietor?)

4. Form a budget. (This is your best friend!) 

5. Create an emergency fund. (Your brakes and seat belt for the crazy entrepreneurial ride)

6. Identify key financial roadblocks that might threaten the stability of your baby business and how to navigate around them. 

You'll be watching a voiced-over presentation built into Prezi narrated by Philip and Julia Olson of the Art of Finance with 5 separate lectures and a worksheet to follow along and take notes on. We are experienced creative entrepreneurs and Philip is also a Certified Financial Planner.
