Course details

The oral interview is the most important part of the hiring process and is often weighted as much as 100% of the candidate's final grade. Earning a high score on the interview is essential to getting hired. Most people struggle with this part of the process. In this course we will take the mystery out and provide you with strategies and tactics to be successful in the process. Fire Alumni, in association with Paul Lepore, has produced this course to take all the guesswork out of the firefighter oral interview process.

About Paul Lepore

Paul Lepore is a currently a shift Division Chief for a Southern California Fire Department where he is assigned to manage the Special Services Division and emergency responses for the City. Chief Lepore earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Vocational Education from California State University, Long Beach. He also earned an AS degree in Fire Science from Santa Ana College.

About Bob Atlas

Bob Atlas is a Battalion Chief with a busy Metropolitan Northern California Fire Department.He entered the fire service as a Community Fire Aide for the Milpitas Fire Department in 1996 and completed an internship with the South Santa Clara County Fire Protection District and Cal Fire in 1997. Bob was then employed as an Emergency Medical Technician for American Medical Response. He was hired as a full time professional firefighter in 1999, promoted to Fire Engineer in 2002, Captain in 2005 and Shift Battalion Chief in 2011.Chief Atlas is currently assigned to one of the busiest Battalions and is responsible for 8 fire stations and crews.Atlas oversees $30 million in Local, State and Federal grants for training, apparatus, equipment and staffing. He has instructed at many fire academies around the state. Bob is a California State Fire Marshal certified Fire Officer and Fire Instructor I as well as a former member of FEMA US&R - California Task Force 4 and his district's Technical Rescue Program. Chief Atlas is a member of the East Bay Incident Management Team and assigned to the Operations Section. Atlas also serves on the district's career development committee and is a Certified Oral Board Rater. Bob is responsible for the fire apparatus committee and is the Program Manager for the Boy Scouts of America, Fire Explorer Post 88. He has been coaching entry-level candidates since 1999 and promotional candidates since 2005. Chief Atlas is a contributing author to magazines and career related job sites.Atlas is a speaker at the fire service's highly acclaimed Fire Department Instructor Conference (FDIC). Bob is one of three Owners of Fire Alumni, a leader in public safety training & education since 2004. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from The University of Massachusetts and an Associates of Science in Fire Science from Mission College. Chief Atlas has been married for 23 years to his beautiful wife Teresa; they have 3 children and reside in Brentwood, Ca. His philosophy in life is simple...
