  • Explain the scope OH&S management systems specifications, standards, and where applicable, other criteria against which an OH&S audit could be performed
  • Describe the principles, processes and techniques used for the assessment of risk and the significance of these in all OH&S management systems
  • Interpret the requirements of the OH&S 18001:2007 in the context of an audit
  • Effectively plan and conduct an audit of the management and operation of an organization in accordance with the requirements of relevant OH&S audit criteria and ISO 19011
  • Report the audit including writing valid, factual and value-adding nonconformity reports
  • Undertake audit follow-up activities including evaluating effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Individuals intending to acquire competence in auditing an organization’s OHSAS management system, either as a third or second party auditor will benefit from this course. Although designed for delegates with no or limited auditing experience, it is necessary that delegates have some health and safety experience and qualification.

Note: The course is a requirement for certification as an auditor on process-based OH&SMS program

EXAMINATION
Basis of grading:
  • A continuous assessment of their performance against the course objectives
  • Their marks obtained in the written examination
Successful course completion requirement:
  • A Pass Grade in the continuous assessment
  • 70% of the total examination marks
