Course details
This training provides a comprehensive overview of the footwear manufacturing process, so as to better comprehend the underlying issues in design, prototyping and production. Participants will analyze the various methods in shoe construction and types of seam construction which will provide them with key elements to build quality of finishing into the shoes.
OBJECTIVES
- Identify footwear components and accessories for different types of footwear
- Identify the processes in footwear production from design to finish product for different types of footwear
- Analyze footwear to determine its construction and assembly process
- Evaluate the quality of a shoe construction against established criteria
- Recommend alternative constructions to improve quality, price and lead-time
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Preferably possess 3 GCE ‘O’level qualification with passes in English and Math or ESS WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:
- 75% attendance rate
- Assessed to be competent in given competency standard
CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE
Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
