Course details

The foundation course for complementary therapy. The course provides students with a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology of the body so that they have a complete knowledge of the structure and functions of each area on which they are working. The course includes Holistic Massage incorporating the classical movements treating the whole body and covers the subject on Professional Conduct & Business Awareness.

Course Syllabus

Unit 1: Anatomy & Physiology
Understand the structure and function of each organ – Skeletal System – Muscular System – The Cells – The Skin – Vascular System – Lymphatic System – Nervous System – Endocrine System – Reproductive System – Digestive System – Urinary System

Unit 2: Holistic Massage (Theory & Practical)
History of Massage – Client Care – Physiological & Psychological study of the human body – Types & Effects of Different Massage Strokes – Therapist Well-being – Case Study

Unit 3: Professional Conduct & Business Awareness
First Aid – Salon Safety – Hygiene & Sterilization – Client Handling – Business Legislation – Marketing & Advertising

Mode of Delivery
The course is delivered by a well qualified trainer in a classroom and salon environment

Examination Requirements
Candidates must have 75% attendance in order to take the examination
