Course details

On Completion of this unit, learner will have the knowledge and application skills in providing full-body massage without oil and able to apply them at the workplace. This course is recommended for those who wish to know more about our body systems and acquire a mastery of the basic Chinese Tuina massage techniques. It is particular useful for those who wish to learn the appropriate technique suitable to work on body parts and their rationale and effects.  This unit is within the competency category of Body Therapy and is one of the modules leading to the CET certificates.

COURSE OUTLINES

• Carry out pre-treatment activities-personal grooming / hygiene, infection & preventive care;
• Consult with client-acquire basic knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology covering the key body systems such as musculo-skeletal, circulatory and nervous system,  effects & benefits of massage technique, contraindications & cautions, importance of reviewing & updating client profile, client consent;
• Perform massage - types & effects of different Chinese massage movement/manipulations such as Tui Fa, Na Fa, Rou Fa, An Fa, Cuo Fa; client's comfort & modest, client feedback;
• Carry out post-treatment activities - importance of giving after care advice

Award Criteria

Trainees must pass the Final Assessment as Competent.
