Certificate III in Aged Care Work Central

Course details

Workers in this occupational group work primarily in residential facilities under direct or regular supervision with clearly defined organizational guidelines and service plans. These workers carry out activities related to the maintenance of an individual's personal care and/ other activities of living. These workers report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers. Workers at this level are required to have an understanding of indigenous culture and history and to work with local communities in the provision of services.

• Provide personal care
• Orientation to aged care work
• Support the older person to meet their emotional and psycho social needs
• Provide care support which is responsive to the specific nature of dementia
• Communicate appropriately with clients and colleagues
• Comply with information requirements of the aged care and community care sectors
• Participate in safety procedures for direct care work
• Participate in the work environment
• Assist with self medication
• Work effectively with culturally diverse clients and co-workers
• Facilitate co-operative behavior
• Workplace learning residential aged care
• Senior First Aid

Entry Requirements

For Singaporeans / PRs

• GCE "O" Levels qualification or equivalent.
• GCE "N" Levels or Secondary 2 qualification may be acceptable on a case by case basis.
