Course details

• This is a preparatory course for TEFL.  The Certificate in TEFL course covers the essential components needed to equip onewith the necessary skills to land that first job as an English teacher in a private school. The programme provides aninsight into the challenges facing the learner and the role of the teacher. The up-to-date and practical course provides apath for those desiring a fast entry into the teaching industry or who are exploring teaching English as a possible careerwithout an initially huge outlay in investment.

Requirements

• At least 18 Years of age
• At least 2 years working experience
• GCE ‘O’ Levels with a credit in English or equivalent
• For Foreign students, a high school qualification and a IELTS score of 6.5 is required
• If you do not fall within the above categories but are interested, please summit all your qualifications and a letterexplaining why you should be considered. You may be asked to undergo a written English proficiency test and attend aninterview. Your application will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Assessments

• Open book course assignments to be submitted to London Teacher Training College in the U.K. where they will be assessed andgraded by two examiners.

• Students get classroom teaching experience. They are trained to prepare lesson plans on all four skills, as well as grammar and pronunciation. The instructor will evaluate students’ lesson plans and classroom teaching and the marks obtained will go into their final grading.

Class Size

• The maximum class size is nine students. The teacher/student ratio will never be more than 1:9.
