Course details
Movies, simply put, are about one of two things: Someone trying to do something, or something happening to someone. The "someone" represents the protagonist; the "something" is the plot. The interaction between characters and plot is where the quality, depth and success of a story lies.
Welcome to Part One of the Screenwriting Mega Course, a groundbreaking approach to mastering screenplay story structure that has taught thousands of new and experienced screenwriters how to create and integrate all of the essential elements that a professional screenplay must contain.
There is a pattern in the storytelling of all successful movies, regardless of their genre. This pattern has been distinguished in more than 50 movies so far, all of which have found critical and/or box office success. When Hollywood readers recognize this pattern in a screenplay they are considering, it has a much higher chance of being purchased and produced. The pattern consists of eight "Core Elements" that must be present in every story.
By understanding these Core Elements, the writer will be able to craft a story that fulfills its potential, with three-dimensional characters, relevant themes and subplots, and the required structural moments that causes it to be recognized as a professional-quality screenplay.
The lessons taught in this course bring movie storytelling down to it's Core Elements, inspiring and channeling creativity towards productivity and success.
At the completion of Part One, students are invited to enroll in the remaining four modules that comprise the 5-part Mega Course.
