This crashcourse gives you theessential information you need to understand what project managementdoes, how it flows acrossthe life-cycle, and thekey steps you need to taketo make your projectsuccessful, from someone with deep experience in practicalimplementation.

  1.  Overview. Describes what project managementfundamentally does, which domains it applies to, the five phases ofthe process, the most important concept in PM - the tripleconstraint, and the role of the project manager.
  2. Initiation: Describes the purpose of initiation, andbaselining the first definition of your project's scope - theobjective.
  3. Planning: Provides a one page flowchart of the wholeplanning process, and describes the project scope baseline - thework breakdown structure, the logic of the project - the precedencediagram, the schedule baseline - the Gantt chart, the costbreakdown, risk management, and documentation of the projectmanagement plan.
  4. Execution. Describes the purpose of execution, and theessentials of building the best project team.
  5. Monitoring & Control. Describes the purpose ofmonitoring and control, managing scope, schedule, cost, and risk, andthe monthly project status review.
  6. Closing. Describes the purpose of closing, and wrappingup the project in a targeted final report.
