Presentation Skills Training

Course details

Anyone who is required to or will soon be required to give presentations in their workplace or community. This course is suitable for all levels of experience ranging from beginner levels through to those who have given many presentations.

Overview

Presentation Skills are an essential management skill. The aim of this course is to provide opportunities for participants to practice and develop their abilities to deliver information and ideas with clarity and confidence.

The course is highly interactive with activities and practice opportunities designed to put your new skills into action throughout the course.

Course Content

Planning a Presentation

This is a key area for the successful delivery of presentations.

Topics include:

• Planning: Key Steps to planning a presentation.
• Presentation Structure: This includes planning the Introduction, Body & Conclusion.
• Questions: Techniques for addressing questions from the audience are explored.

Preparing a Presentation

Topics include:

• Preparing the venue
• Preparing handouts & when to give them out
• Preparing visual aids. This section provides tips for designing you PowerPoint slides & the pitfalls to avoid.

Presenting

Participants will practice the delivery of a presentation. On the second day participants will each present a prepared 5-10minute presentation & receive feedback. 

Topics include:

• Communication Skills including verbal & non-verbal communication
• Handling Nerves
• Presenting to an audience
